A specialist axe – the poll (the back of the
head) is forged thinner than the Small Forest Axe
– its equivalent in the standard range. The
poll is gently rounded and burnished to a Flay Poll,
to use for skinning an animal. The hickory handle is
textured to give extra grip. The Hunter’s Axe
is the only axe to have received a design award from
The Swedish Society of Crafts & Design.
